Why WordPress is my favorite site building software

As an experienced website owner, I’ve got thousands of tools available at my fingertips, however there’s one tool which I prefer to all the rest. WordPress. I’m the proud owner of many WordPress sites, and I can say that WordPress is simply just the best website creation tool available on the internet. You can also find lots of WordPress tips on the Internet and the best of the best are on Top10wordpress.com!

I want to build sites which are tweaked to my own purposes and needs; however I also want to build sites which can be created quickly and hassle-free. WordPress ticks both boxes, and since starting with WordPress – I’ve never gone back.

WordPress can be used to create a blog or as an entire site-building and management suite. You can see good articles and tutorials on these topics on Top10wordpress.com. WordPress caters to an astronomical number of wants and needs. That’s why I, and thousands of other online professionals, would recommend WordPress as an essential tool for anybody involved in creating or managing websites.

Why WordPress?

1) It’s Free

WordPress can be obtained by anyone absolutely free of charge – the developers pride over WP’s open and free status. Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean it lacks in professionalism – WP is the tool for both 1 dollar and one million dollar sites alike. In addition to developing the WordPress CMS, the WP developers also offer a hosted solution. WordPress.org is where you should go to download the base installation package for WordPress, however WordPress.com is a free (there are premium options available) hosting service designed for the WP tool.

Personally (as an experienced web admin), I prefer building my WP sites on my own hosting packages, however if you’re just starting out in the industry, it may be easier for you to go with a wordpress.com solution. Be warned, WordPress.com has limitations placed which may prevent you from making certain changes.

2) It’s easy to use

When I was just starting out in the industry, I was overwhelmed by all of the tools and options available to me. WordPress was really helpful to me then, and is my favourite tool this day. I’ve always found the WordPress interface to be both slick and intuitive; this streamlines the whole process of editing and launching your website. Since I spend less time configuring, I am able to spend much more time on the things that will actually improve my site. Whether you’re new or experienced, WP is an extremely easy to use tool that can produce stunning results.

3) It’s feature rich

While vanilla WordPress can build amazing sites, the true magic of WP is in its customizability and its huge plugin palette. I’ve spent days just browsing through all of the themes and plugins available – the majority of which are completely free. I’ve seen many mind-blowing WP theme designs, and encourage all WP users to just take a look at the staggering number of themes available on the market. I’m a huge fan of theme libraries such as ElegantThemes.com and WooThemes.com; if you don’t mind spending a bit of cash, I highly recommend both sites if you’re stuck for designs.

4) It’s extremely easy to set up

I’ve used many different software suites, and WordPress outmatches them all in terms of the setup process. WordPress is famed for its speedy setup time, and judging from my experience with the software, that fame is well deserved. Using WordPress, I can setup an entire site in a matter of minutes. The installation process is now becoming even quicker with the introduction of instant setup scripts such as Fantastico and Simplescripts – these tools are now available on most hosts through CPanel. Even if you decide to go the manual route, WP’s installation interface is clear and will guide you through the entire process – from setting up the initial database, to naming and branding your site.

5) It’s optimized for search engines

If you’re setting up a website, you’re probably going to want people to visit it (If you don’t, then you may want to rethink your business plan).Personally, I find search engine optimization to be very time consuming; I’m really glad that WordPress has built-in SEO features to make my websites more search engine friendly right out of the box. You can also download SEO plugins to help optimize your site further. From my experience, I’ve found plugins such as Yoast’s WP SEO and the All in One SEO Pack to be most useful. These SEO plugins have saved me a lot of time, and I would recommend them anybody interested in building up their site’s search engine visibility and ranking.

In summary…

WordPress is a dynamic system which can adapt to virtually any scenario. I’ve hosted WP sites for clients varying from outdoor landscaping to biotechnology – WordPress allows me tweak the layout and design to fit very individual purposes. I want you take into consideration all of the points in this article, as they could potentially save you lots of time and money.

If I haven’t already convinced you to try out WordPress, then I really hope that you’ll test the software sometime in the future, or at least read up on some more information on my website and also on Top10wordpress.com. WordPress has revolutionized the process of building and publishing websites, and will certainly help you in your online endeavours. I hope you have a great time using WordPress and its extensive array of plugins.

Exactly the same reasons why I stick with WordPress! I first used Blogger, but when a friend introduced me to the world of WP, I fell in love since. And I am delighted that it is STILL free.
